Before you start, make sure you have everything you need. This includes fabric, sewing needles, glue, a hole punch, scissors, a piece of cardboard, a sheet of paper, a length of string, twine, or ribbon, and an essential oil. Essential oils are concentrates of different natural oils, and each has a distinctive smell. You won’t need much on the fabric, since it’s concentrated, meaning a little goes a long way. Our Car Sales Team’s Step-by-Step Guide

1. Step one is the draw a template on a sheet of paper. Whatever you draw will be the shape of your air freshener. Don’t make it too complicated, and don’t make it too big. Remember, this will dangle from your rearview mirror, so you don’t want something obscuring your view.
2. Once you’re done drawing, the second step is to carefully cut the template you drew out of the paper.
3. Step three is where the fabric comes in. Put the cut-out paper on the fabric, then cut around it. Do this twice, so you have two pieces of fabric of the same shape.

5. Once you have the card cut into the right shape, it’s time to glue a piece of the cut-out fabric to each side and wait for it to dry.
6. Once it’s dry, dab a small amount of your chosen essential oil onto the fabric. 10 to 20 small drops is usually enough.
7. Use the hole punch on the top of the card, and thread some twine, string, or a ribbon through it.
8. Your final step is to loop the ribbon around your rearview mirror and tie a knot so that it hangs in place.
